Child Safe Standards policy template

From 1 January 2023, all dance and performing arts studios in Victoria must have a Child Safe Standards policy developed. For all Dance Arts Alliance members, this policy must also be public facing (usually through your website).

We understand that studio owners are busy, so we’ve created a template to help you in the development of your policy.

All studios must have this completed and submitted to us to meet membership standards for 2024 and beyond.

The cost of the template is $85 for Dance Arts Alliance members and $195 for non members. Some important notes:

• The template gives you a lot of content you will need, however does NOT give you all the content for the 11 Standards – it gives you one complete standard, but you’ll need to implement the others specifically to your studio. It does give you a lot of other content you can use that will support the communication with your students and parents
• The Child Safe Standard template is a master template, you should also update other policies to support this such as your social media policy, privacy policy, complaint resolution policy etc.
• Please note that Dance Arts Alliance is 100% funded through memberships and services such as this. All money we spend goes toward improving our industry

Safe Dance Practice Guidelines

The Dance Arts Alliance Board have developed a Safe Dance Practice Guidelines document for Dance and Performing Arts Studios. This document has been created by our board and in future, this will form the basis of minimum obligations for our member studios.
