Kala Jones is a seasoned dancer and choreographer whose journey began in regional NSW, where she honed her dance skills from 2 years of age. At 15, she was accepted into Brent Street’s Talent Development High School and Agency, marking the start of her formal professional training. Completing her studies at Brent Streets full-time program, Kala moved to New York City after securing a place in the International Student Program at Broadway Dance Centre.
Her career highlights include dancing in the vibrant St Patrick’s Day Parade in NYC, as a backup dancer for Alexis Jordan during the 2011 Mardi Gras, appearing as a dancer on Australian Idol during 2008 and 2009 and in Disneyland during 2013.
With over 17 years of experience in teaching dance, Kala holds a diploma in dance teaching and management, exemplifying her dedication to dance and dance education. She is also a certified teacher of Acrobatic Arts.
Kala is known for her exemplary way of connecting to and empowering young dancers, teaching with a fun, energetic, and passionate style. She instructs both competitive and recreational students, inspiring their growth and fostering a deep love for dance.
Kala has a passion for personal wellbeing and her commitment and role as a choreographer for SKIP Regional Youth Dance Company highlights her dedication to nurturing talent and promoting dance as a vehicle for artistic expression and personal development.
