Over the past two days, our Chair Melanie Gard and Board Member Jemma Powys attended the Safeguarding Children and Young People Conference hosted by @thehatcheryhub in partnership with @napcan_australia.

We are proud to endorse this valuable event, and thank The Hatchery and NAPCAN for the opportunity to have valuable discussions and make great connections towards our shared goal of child safety. It was fantastic to have Melanie as a panelist, which was a great platform to have the voice of our industry heard.

We look forward to continuing to represent dance and performing arts education organisations in national conferences.

The Wiggles World of Dance is an education-first early childhood movement program created to support the healthy development, safety and wellbeing of young children through music, movement and play. Purpose-built for the early learning years, the program combines structured dance education with principles from early childhood development, ensuring every class is age-appropriate, engaging and nurturing for little learners.

Dance Arts Alliance are proud to welcome Cecchetti as a member organisation. With child safety at the centre of their ethos, Cecchetti delivers one of Australia’s premier ballet syllabi, dedicated to excellence in classical training and development.

The first Australian examinations were held in 1934, though Cecchetti’s influence arrived earlier through Catherine Bartho — his private pupil and the first Russian ballerina to perform in Australia in 1893.

We look forward to working together with Cecchetti to ensure ballet training remains safe, supportive, and inspiring for all children in Australia.
